Would you love to help and knit some flowers for Hope and
Bloom but don’t know where to start? Read on below on where to find patterns to
suit every and any level!.
For flowers with more depth and detail I use a variety of resources,
mainly I use a book called 100 knitted flowers to knit and crochet which is
widely available online and in book stores, however countless of patterns can
be found online for free, my two favourite websites are http://www.oddknit.com/patterns/new.html
and http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/flowers.php.
This one http://craftyville.squidoo.com/flowerknittingpatterns#module152928961
is also a good resource.
I have two quick ones I tend to use for roses and tulips:-
For roses I stitch a 5 – 10 cm square and then gather the
resulting fabric down the middle to make ruffles and roll together and for a
tulip I stich a rectangular shape around 5 cm by 10cm depending on the wool and
again stitch into shape. These I use to
make up the bouquets as ‘fillers’. Loom knitted
flowers are also used for the same effect.
